Details:
The unit is electronically steered and has random-check circuitry rotating it for one minute in one direction ( this turns your watch 5 times through 360º), then stopping for approx. 3 minutes, then rotatating in the opposite direction. The standard version rotates the watches 1100 times to the left and 1100 times to the right during a 24hr day.
We recommend that you run the unit off a timer which should be set to switch it on and off about 8-10 times per 24hrs. All up you only need the winder to be going for about 2-3hrs per day so set your timer to add up to that total no. of hours when in switched-on mode. This allows the main spring in your chronometer to unwind and will stop it attaining a maximum constant state of tension-
If you just place your watch on a winder and have it wind it continuously in its default setting it will eventually tension the spring to its maxm. and keep it that way...not recommended for optimum wear and tear characteristics of your precious chrono!...that’s why all our winders have a stop interval including this one
